American college basketball player Cooper Flagg, who plays for the Duke Blue Devils, was named the 2022 USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year for his performance in the 2022 FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup, making him the youngest player ever to win the award.

The 6-foot 9 future NBA star is sponsored by New Balance and Gatorade and has been described by American sports journalist Stephen A Smith as 'the total package'. Flagg was awarded National Player of the Year in college basketball for the 2024-25 season and at just 18 years old is expected to be number one pick in the NBA draft in June 2025.
